Hi everybody

Just touching in with you all to say hello and to let you know a little bit of the things I am doing.

I had a wonderful concert in the Clayton Hotel, Galway,  which was sold out and in fact many people were turned away as they diid not have a  ticket. I always feel like I am coming home when I do a show in Galway as I lived there for a long time. It is always nice to meet up with the people who have supported me throughout my 55 years and most of them have become my friends.

On the 15th June I was in the Millennium Forum, Derry, to record “Opry le Daniel” for TG4, Daniel presented the show which was a 55 year tribute, I loved every minute and it was nice to spend time with my Brother. My Brothers John and James were there, and many of my cousins, neighbours and friends., I had a great time and all I can say is that it was really special, the show will be aired later on in the year. My thanks to all involved and to my special guest Shunie Crampsie who performed with me the duet I recorded with Big Tom “A Love That Lasted Through The Years” which Shunie wrote, so although The King could not be with me in person I know he was there in spirit. (R.I.P.Tom)

My next appointment was to sing for my friend and our President Michael.D.Higgins and his wife Sabina at ARAS AN UACHTARAIN in Dublin, what an honor, I was there before when I celebrated my 50 years in music. It was special to meet up with many people from the world of music and to sing for our President who sent me a special video message for my TV. show in Derry.

The weather was kind to us on the day and it was a pleasure to spend some time in the beautiful gardens and surroundings and to enjoy everything that was going on, and also to spend some time with all the entertainers that were there, it is not very often that we are all in the one place so that was also special.

If anyone told me back when I started that I would still be having these special times 55 years on I would never would have envisaged it, however it is all down to my wonderful fans and God above who have given me all the treasures and memories I have today.

Thank you all from my heart and thank you for all the love you have given me.

My next concert will be in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore on the 17th July,  I am really looking forward it.

Stay safe and be good to one another.

Until the next time.

 Love always

Hello from Castleblayney

Hello everyone

I am delighted to be doing a concert in the Clayton Hotel, Galway on the 12th June. I lived in Galway for many years and I enjoyed every minute.

Over the years I made many fans and friends and I look forward to meeting up with them over the few days I am there.

I have five more concerts to celebrate my 55 years and I am looking forward to each one and on the 15th June I will be recording my special show for “Opry Le Daniel” in the Millennium Forum, Derry. I have one special guest Shunie Crampsie who I admire as a songwriter a singer and a wonderful human being.  The show will be aired later in the year.

Last month I went to Portugal on Billy Morrissey’s “Music Holiday” week, I did my concert and then there was dancing afterwards. Each afternoon around the pool there was live music and then each night our entertainers played, Mick Flavin, John Hogan, T.R.Dallas Trudi Lalor, David James and many more travelled over to entertain the people.

I really enjoyed it and what fun we all had, it was my first time and I know I will be going again next year. People travelled from England, Ireland Scotland and Wales for the week of fun and music and of course the sun and some relaxation.

I would like to thank Billy Morrissey and Trudi Lalor for a wonderful relaxing week.

I am delighted that my latest c.d. “Margo Old and New” is doing really well and getting plenty of airplay on all of the radio stations, “Fly Me West”, ‘Have You Got Time” and “A Million Reasons’ are the most requested, each song is special and I enjoyed recording each track, I always pick my own songs for my albums and that makes it that extra special.

i look forward to meeting many of you over the coming months at my concerts or even around Castleblayney, I often meet fans and friends when I visit Big Tom’s Grave or his statue.

Until the next time take care and be kind to one another because tomorrow isn’t promised and life is very short.

Love always

Hello from Castleblayney

Hello everyone

I have been busy these past weeks and I have a lot going on this year.

After my few concerts with Mike Denver earlier in the year I did the first of my own six concerts to celebrate my 55 years in the music business.

My first concert was in the Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny, the show was completely sold out, it was a wonderful night, and everyone really had a good time. I met so many people who I had not seen for a good while so it was nice to catch up and enjoy the chat.

I would like to thank Trudi and Billy Morrissey for making my first concert special and of course successful. The Lyrath Estate Hotel is a beautiful venue with beautiful surroundings, all of the staff were so kind and helpful which makes your visit really special. If you are looking for a few days break you would really enjoy staying there with

plenty of opportunities to pamper yourself.

It was Big Tom’s first Anniversary Mass on the 13th April, where did that year go. I felt so honoured to sing in the Chapel but I must admit it was so hard, I miss Big Tom and Rose so much but at least I have so many loving memories which I will cherish for ever. I sometimes visit the grave and chat to them and that makes me feel happy but a little sad at the same time. There are always fans and friends visiting the grave and I spend some time with them to chat about Tom.

On the 29th April the “Hot Country T.V. Awards “took place in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Cavan. It was a wonderful night and so many artists appeared and received their awards

i received an award  to  celebrate my 55 years in the music business, Oh my that is a long time, most of my life in fact. If someone had told me when I was starting out at nearly 13 years of a age that I would be still singing I don’t think I would have believed them. I feel blessed that I  still have my voice and that my fans  want to come along and see me at my concerts, without  my fans I would not be up there and performing. I must be doing something right to still be here after 55 years.

I often wonder where my path would have taken me if I had become a nurse as that what I wanted to do.

On the 3rd May The “Late Late Show” had its special Country Show with a host of singers from the music business, I was honoured to be part of this wonderful night of entertainment.  A few of our legends have gone now, Big Tom, Larry Cunningham and Gene Stuart but I am sure they were looking down on us all that night.

My next concert is in the Clayton Hotel, Galway on the 12th June and I hope you can come along and join me with my guests for a special show.

I am delighted to be appearing on Opry le Daniel to celebrate my 55th year in entertainment and hoping you will all come along and celebrate with me on Saturday 15th June at Millennium Forum, Derry.

See you all there.

Take care and until the next time be kind and caring to one another as tomorrow is never promised.

Love always

Hello everyone

I cannot believe that it is March already, where did those months go since Christmas, for me they just seemed to fly by.
I know some parts of the Country had a snowfall but here in Castleblayney we have been lucky up until now, but this month isn’t out yet.

I am so pleased that my latest album is doing really well and getting plenty of airplay, especially “Fly Me West” and “Have You Got Time”.
“Fly Me west” is on D.V.D. and you can view it on youtube along with another track “Have You Got Time” which was filmed by Steve and Daniel Bloor.

I have done two of my concerts with Mike Denver and have another three shows this month in Armagh, Cavan and Killarney. I always enjoy going to the .I.N.E.C. in Killarney, I will be there again in August with my own show and I have some guests on with me.

As I am celebrating 55 years in the music business, each of the concerts will be special. If someone had told me when I started out singing at the tender age of nearly thirteen that I would be still out there singing I would never have believed them.

I often wonder if I had become a nurse which is what I wanted to do when I left school where would my journey have taken me, a totally different road, but then I think of all of my fans and friends who have been with me down throughout my career and it gives me a great feeling of satisfaction in my life.

I hope to meet up with many of you over the coming months, and I want to thanks you all for your support throughout my career.

until the next time take

Love always

Hello from my home in Castleblayney

Hello everyone,

First of all I would like to say how overwhelmed I am with the lovely comments about my new video “Fly Me West” which was filmed by Daniel and Steve Bloor around Lough Muckno in Castleblayney, the Lake has been a popular place for filming many videos, Big Tom, Ciaran Rosney  and myself filmed around the area, it is beautiful and so peaceful, and there are beautiful walks around the park. In the bluebell season people come from all around to see the lovely sight, just a carpet of blue, a sight to behold.

Daniel and Steve Bloor also shot another two videos, filmed in a local location which I am really thrilled about. ‘Have You Got Time” and ‘A Million Reasons”  all three songs are on my new C.D. which will be released by my record company at the beginning of February. There are 16 Tracks including “Grace” “The Parting Glass’ Tipperary Far Away, my tribute songs to both my dearest friends Jean Shepard and Liz Anderson, it has been four years since I last had an album released so this is special for my 55 year celebrations.

I have five concerts with Mike Denver the first show is on Friday 1st February in the Carrickdale, Dundalk, Co. Louth, I was also there last year with Mike and I really enjoyed it.

It is really lovely that people ring or text to say they will be at some of the shows and I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

As I am celebrating 55 years in the music business, Trudi Lalor who is also a wonderful singer has arranged five Margo concerts with special guests, including Brendan Shine, Declan Nerney and Keelan Arbuckle. The first concert is Tuesday 16th April in The Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny. it will be the first time I have done a show there so I am looking forward to the new venue which is set in beautiful surroundings.

I look forward to meeting up with fans and friends over the coming months.

Until the next time, take care and be kind to one another.

Love always
